What Is Wellness Anyway? (And Why You’re Probably Doing It Right Already)

Well hey there!

Welcome back to my little corner of the internet. Grab a snack and kick it for a while!

Let’s talk about one of my favorite buzzwords: wellness.
No, not “$30 smoothies” wellness. Not the “retreats in the rainforest” kind of wellness. Not even the aesthetic TikToks with pastel yoga mats and whispery affirmations kind of wellness.

Sure, they’re very aesthetic. But that’s not the reality of it.

It’s not a 5 a.m. cold plunge or a $400 facial—unless that genuinely feeds your soul.

Wellness is the ongoing practice of caring for your mind, body, and soul in ways that allow you to thrive—not just now, but for the long run.

It’s not about hitting a certain number on the scale or chasing somebody else's version of “goals.”

It’s about longevity. Vitality. Joy.
It’s about creating habits that fuel your peace—not your stress.

You’re Probably Doing It Already

If you’ve ever:

  • Drank water before coffee

  • Taken five deep breaths instead of snapping on someone

  • Hid in the bathroom for a minute of silence (and maybe a snack to yourself)

  • Cried in the shower and felt better afterwards

  • Said “no” because your peace costs too much

That counts, friend!

THAT is wellness.

Because the truth is, your body, your rhythm, your season of life—it’s different.
And wellness? It’s not about how you look. It’s about how you feel.
It’s choosing joy over chaos, stillness over burnout, one nourishing choice at a time.

This Is Personal, Not Performative

Wellness is a deeply personal journey.
What makes one person feel vibrant might totally drain someone else.
That’s why your journey has to come from within—not from Pinterest, not from the group chat, and definitely not from comparing yourself to someone else's curated life online.

Ask yourself often: “What does wellness look like for me, right now?”

Because the answer will change—and that’s okay.
Your wellness is allowed to evolve. You are allowed to change your mind.

Your Kids Are Watching, Too (No Pressure… Just Truth)

For us moms, this isn’t just about us.
It’s about them, too.
Our little ones are watching how we move, how we care for ourselves, how we speak to our bodies, how we handle stress.

We’re laying their foundation.
Not to scare you—but to empower you.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to be present.
You just have to show them what trying looks like.

Wellness = Your Rules + Your Rhythm

Wellness 101:

  • Go where the joy is.

  • Do what feels good.

  • Drop what doesn’t.

  • Change your mind. Pivot. Press pause. Then press play again.

This is your wellness journey.
Not for Instagram. Not for aesthetics. Not for approval.
But for you.

Because when you feel good?
You move better.
You love better.
You live better.
And the people around you feel that too.

You’re Doing Great, Boo. Keep Going.

Wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.
Some days it’s yoga. Some days it’s silence and a snack.
Both are real. Both are valid. Both are you.

So if no one told you today:
You’re doing an amazing job.

You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re not too late.

You’re on a journey.
And I’m right here in your corner—green juice in one hand, iced coffee in the other—cheering you on every step of the way.
